Creating a great team

Better team = better outputs! It’s as simple as that.

Every team member is critical to the combined success of ToolShare. In this week’s blog post, we’re taking you through some of the ways we work well together at ToolShare.

Embracing differences

At ToolShare, we each have unique different personalities, interests, and focuses (much like our platform users). We take time to understand each other and our differences which helps create alternate viewpoints that enrich our creativity and innovation.

Balance

We operate on a model of total flexibility and managed expectation. Everyone on our team manages their own schedule and workload. We have just one remote meeting a week on an evening and we utilise Microsoft teams to collaborate and communicate. Every couple of months we’ll have an in-person meet up and that’s it! We get it, there’s other important things to do.

Trust

We believe in empowering our team members with autonomy and responsibility. We don’t measure performance by hours spent, but by results achieved. ToolShare is composed of experts, each with a critical role to play. We trust each other to deliver, working to individual strengths and it always comes together.

Transparency

We are committed to being transparent and honest in everything we do. We keep all our team channels open, so everyone can see and contribute to what’s happening in different departments. Honesty is key and we take feedback very seriously internally and externally. We’re also embracing a concept called ‘building in public’, check it out where we share our progress and challenges with our community.

We hope you enjoyed this glimpse into our team culture at ToolShare. Help us improve – we would love to hear from you about any other working practices from our community. Please leave us a comment or send us a message.
